Principal Accountant

Overview

This role manages accounting and finance activities for assigned entities, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, period-end closing, statutory reporting, and compliance with US GAAP and applicable local statutory and tax requirements. The position also serves as a technical accounting resource and a trusted finance partner to business teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting activities for assigned entities, including:
  • Accurate bookkeeping
  • Travel & expense (T&E)
  • Period-end closing
  • Local statutory audits
  • Annual filings
  • Compliance with US GAAP and local statutory and tax requirements
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, treasury reports, and other reports required by Corporate Finance or local government authorities for assigned entities
• Drive process standardization and automation initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Oversee tax-related matters for assigned entities, including:
  • Transfer pricing
  • VAT
  • Corporate income tax
  • Other local taxes
  • Inquiries from tax authorities
• Serve as a trusted finance partner to business teams by clearly communicating finance-related matters and providing training as needed
• Act as a technical accounting resource and participate in regional and global finance projects, including system rollouts and policy updates

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least seven years of accounting experience, including:
  • General ledger accounting
  • Period-end close
  • Statutory reporting
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and China Accounting Standards (CAS), with a working knowledge of China tax regulations
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin
• Quick learner with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Professional, self-motivated, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP and Concur
