Project Finance Analyst

Overview

This role supports forecasting, invoicing, cash flow, and financial risk reporting for assigned studies. The position is remotely based and involves partnering with project and finance teams to analyze data, validate financial system setup, and help drive timely resolutions to financial issues.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project teams to provide forecasting support, including input, review, and analysis of the forecasting tool.
• Support invoicing and cash flow for all assigned studies by reviewing and understanding the cash position and actions needed to improve it.
• Validate financial systems to confirm each study is set up properly and updated as needed in master systems.
• Review monthly project finances with the project manager and/or team, including:
  • Understanding the rationale for issues and potential resolutions
  • Assessing the overall impact on the study and organization
  • Strategically working with the project team to determine next steps to recover work or reduce cost overruns
• Provide ongoing support for aligning resourcing with the project forecast of contracted hours.
• Support client and internal project reporting needs.
• Collaborate with internal leadership, including project managers, project leads, finance managers, and higher levels of management, to support financial risks, escalations, and resolutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project-based work experience or clinical research experience.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office, including:
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (basic)
  • Microsoft Excel (Intermediate)
• Basic knowledge of percent complete accounting.
• Basic knowledge of financial statement analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Typically 2+ years related experience.
