Overview

Remote consultants based in Portugal are sought to design an automation solution for finance operations using Redwood Finance Automation.

Work will focus on the record-to-report cycle, including:

Contract duration is being confirmed. Start date: 15 November 2026. Day rate: EUR 450 a day. Language: English.

Own the solution design end-to-end: from design into build, testing, and go-live.
Partner with finance process owners to understand how the close runs today.
Determine what to automate and in what order.
Produce a solution design that engineering teams can build.
Make decisions to ensure what was designed meets real requirements during build and delivery.
Conduct current-state analysis of record-to-report processes with controllers and finance operations leads.
Define the target automation design across close, reconciliation, journals, and intercompany, written up as the solution design.
Decide where standard Redwood capability covers requirements and where extensions are justified.
Create integration design covering SAP S/4HANA or ECC and other source systems.
Design balance sheet auto-certification rules, controls, approvals, and an audit trail so the automated close stands up to audit.
Guide engineers through build and review delivered outputs against the solution design.
Define test strategy and acceptance criteria with finance users.
Produce a roadmap for subsequent automation waves once initial processes are live.

Solution design ownership on at least one live Redwood Finance Automation (RunMyFinance) implementation, including running design workshops and writing the design.
8 or more years of experience in finance transformation, finance systems, or record-to-report process design.
Working understanding of SAP FI/CO (or the Oracle equivalent) and how close and reconciliation data flows between the ERP and the automation layer.
Experience running workshops with finance users and converting workshop outputs into a buildable, testable design.
Ability to work with senior finance stakeholders and hold a design position when challenged.

Hands-on Redwood build experience, so you understand what your design requires of engineers.
Experience with BlackLine, Trintech, or SAP Advanced Financial Closing.
Finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar).
Experience in financial services or another regulated industry, including work under SOX or similar audit controls.
