Overview
A consulting organization is seeking a Remote Account Payable and Receivable Specialist to join their finance team. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable processes, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. The position offers flexible scheduling with 5-8 hours per day and can be full-time or part-time.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Prepare and issue customer invoices ensuring billing accuracy
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
- Schedule and process vendor payments according to policies
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Process account adjustments, credits, and refunds as needed
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare financial reports and account summaries upon request
- Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal departments
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
- Support audits by providing requested financial documentation
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

- Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fully remote accounting role
