Overview

A consulting organization is seeking a Remote Account Payable and Receivable Specialist to join their finance team. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable processes, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. The position offers flexible scheduling with 5-8 hours per day and can be full-time or part-time.

Responsibilities

  • Process and verify vendor invoices accurately and timely
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices ensuring billing accuracy
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Schedule and process vendor payments according to policies
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Process account adjustments, credits, and refunds as needed
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare financial reports and account summaries upon request
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal departments
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
  • Support audits by providing requested financial documentation
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection
  • Quiet, dedicated workspace suitable for remote work
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fully remote accounting role
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles
  • Experience with ERP systems and electronic payment platforms
