Overview
A remote Tax Director position is available for a full-time role based in the United States. This leadership role involves owning the firm's tax practice end-to-end, including both Compliance and Tax Advisory Services. The Tax Director will be a senior technical authority and a member of the firm's leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a tax team of approximately 15 professionals, including direct oversight of four pod leads.
- Drive growth by shaping the playbook, pricing, methodology, and team approach for proactive planning and high-quality client delivery.
- Ensure compliance quality by overseeing reviews, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high standards.
- Serve as the senior client-facing presence for complex engagements and enhance client relationships.
- Build and maintain training and quality assurance systems to keep the team sharp and prevent issues.
- Act as the technical authority with expertise in compliance and advisory, remaining hands-on while leading and teaching.
- Participate in the firm's leadership team to influence both strategic direction and daily operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- CPA license required.
- Recent public accounting experience.
- At least 10 years of public accounting experience, including significant leadership or review responsibilities.
- Proven ability to lead and develop multi-person tax teams.
- Deep knowledge of individual and business taxation, including 1040s, 1120-S, 1065, multi-state, and multi-entity structures.
- Demonstrated ability to develop tax strategies and build advisory-level client relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Taxation.
- Experience with Canopy, SurePrep, UltraTax CS, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with trust taxation, multi-entity structures, captive insurance, or cross-border tax issues.
- Experience working in an EOS-run organization.
- Interest in AI-augmented tax workflows.
- Ambition to grow into a partnership role.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary ranging from $175,000 to $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
