Research Financial Analyst

Overview

This role is responsible for research financial analysis and support for research activity within Cancer Research. The position performs monthly expense analysis, identifies variances, and develops action plans in collaboration with principal investigators and the research management team. It also supports the pre-award process, including budget development, negotiation, and execution for new projects.

This is a regular PRN position with caregivers working remotely between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.

To be considered, caregivers must reside in Ohio, Florida or Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly research financial oversight and develop action plans for variances and issues with investigators and research management.
• Maintain current knowledge of research, financial policies, and applications.
• Monitor for compliance with policy.
• Report any compliance issues to the research management team.
• Provide ad hoc reports, reconcilements, and schedules for management.
• Support budget development and oversight of research activities.
• May negotiate budgets, contracts, and business terms with external funding agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field
• Five years of experience in Accounting
• Practical understanding of accounting and month-end closing cycle
• Exceptional experience with financial accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements

• Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC.
• Normal or corrected vision.
• Extensive sitting and frequent walking.
• Occasional lifting or carrying of 5 to 15 pounds.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range (Minimum Annual Salary): $57,510.00

Pay Range (Maximum Annual Salary): $87,697.50

The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) and does not include the value of the benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).

Remote, with eligibility required for candidates residing in Ohio, Florida or Nevada.
