Overview
A growing organization is seeking a highly skilled Revenue Accountant to serve as a technical ASC 606 expert within the Finance team. This role is essential for ensuring accurate, compliant, and scalable revenue recognition as the business expands. The successful candidate will manage revenue-related technical accounting analysis, maintain and improve revenue controls and policies, support complex deal reviews, and collaborate cross-functionally to provide insights into revenue forecasting and profitability.
Responsibilities
Technical Accounting & ASC 606 Ownership
- Act as the primary subject matter expert on ASC 606, including contract identification, performance obligations, transaction price allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, and significant financing components.
- Prepare and review technical accounting memorandums for complex customer arrangements such as multi-element SaaS contracts, usage-based pricing, professional services, and partner agreements.
- Collaborate with Deal Desk, Legal, Sales, and Revenue Operations teams to review contract terms and assess revenue recognition implications.
Revenue Recognition & Controls
- Maintain and enhance revenue recognition controls to ensure accurate and compliant GAAP and SOX reporting.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to revenue and deferred revenue, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Serve as the primary revenue accounting contact during internal and external audits.
Policies, Procedures & Scalability
- Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies and standard operating procedures.
- Partner with Revenue Operations and Systems teams to improve quote-to-cash and revenue automation processes.
Standalone Selling Price (SSP) Analysis
- Own the SSP framework, including methodology, analysis, refresh cadence, and documentation.
- Perform SSP analyses to support transaction price allocation in compliance with ASC 606.
Forecasting, Profitability & Business Partnership
- Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Revenue Operations to assist with revenue forecasting, backlog analysis, and GAAP revenue timing.
- Provide accounting insights on new product launches, pricing strategies, and go-to-market changes.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in revenue or technical accounting with strong ASC 606 exposure.
- Experience with SaaS revenue models and audit-ready documentation skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a high-growth SaaS company.
- Understanding of subscription, services, or usage-based revenue models.
- Experience with ERP, CPQ, billing, and revenue sub-ledger systems, including NetSuite and Salesforce.com.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Revenue Operations.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $61,500.00 - $102,700.00 (local currency).
