Overview
This role supports enterprise goals by proactively identifying and addressing new or potential overlapping financial, clinical, and client retention risks. You will work closely with cross-functional departments to track complex interdepartmental risks, align stakeholders, assist in executing strategies, and provide reporting on client and initiative performance to leadership.
This position is part of the Business Intelligence and Analytics organization and may serve as a subject matter expert for new products and services deployed across the organization that impact multiple departments.
Responsibilities
Risk Management & Strategic Projects
- Assist with the compilation, development, and reporting of strategic project developments involving interdepartmental risks
- Build strong, consultative working relationships across departments to understand business opportunities, identify risks, and develop strategies to solve for or minimize risks
- Perform analysis, including comparative analyses for a client or book of business across different time frames; track key statistics for priority clients or initiatives across focus areas such as clinical utilization and financial performance
- Conduct reporting by identifying, analyzing, and sharing conclusions based on trends across the book of business and at the client level for multiple audiences (leadership, client-friendly materials, internal team use, etc.)
- Collaborate with stakeholders on new and ongoing monitoring, target/goal setting, and product strategies and solutions
- Support analytics for solutions, including ROI analysis, performance monitoring, and identification of enhancements to existing products and solutions for external and internal partners
Delivery
- Proficiently use internal and third-party platforms and reporting tools needed (e.g., Databricks, Power BI, DOMO)
- Use project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, etc.) to communicate and track requests with internal teammates
- Assist with ad hoc projects involving various risk teams
- Follow defined practices, processes, and procedures with interdepartmental teams such as Finance, UW, and Client Experience
Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key teams, including Client Account Management, Finance, and Care/Clinical Management
- Handle ad hoc requests from Care Management, Client Experience, and Finance teams
- Support fellow peers as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 1 year of PBM experience or at least 2 years of experience in Analytics, Finance, Business Intelligence, or similar
- Excellent oral, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver clear, crisp, customer-focused messages and presentations to all levels of the organization
- Strong data science skills using tools such as SQL, R, Python, or SAS
- Analytical skills to perform complex analysis and make recommendations based on statistical inferences
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment in a deadline-driven setting; build relationships and networking skills within the organization
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working with healthcare claims data and/or pharmacy data (i.e., Pharmacy Benefit Management, Managed Care, and/or Health Plans)
- Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Domo
