Overview
A rapidly growing, venture-backed health technology organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their expanding Finance team. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting and plays a key part in the accounting close process, financial reporting, and technical accounting research. The primary focus is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements while supporting critical business operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage key components of the month-end close process, including preparing complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analyses.
- Assist in developing accounting guidance for new transactions and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Help design and improve internal controls to enhance the accuracy of financial records and scale processes.
- Prepare technical accounting memorandums and support drafting footnotes and schedules for financial statements.
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities, acting as a primary contact for auditors and managing information flow for selected accounting areas.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows to drive process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a background in public accounting or a combination of public and industry experience.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of US GAAP, including experience with complex accounting topics.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly learn new accounting systems such as Sage Intacct.

- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve business processes, automate routine tasks, or enhance the quality and efficiency of financial analysis.
