Senior Accountant

Overview

A global leader in fire and life safety solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role involves performing financial accounting activities in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), overseeing accounting activities for headquarters, and supporting various financial reporting and compliance functions.

Location

• On-site in Palm Beach Gardens, FL (high preference)
• Remote within the US (preferably Eastern Time Zone if not local to Palm Beach Gardens)

Compensation

• Base salary range: $87,975 - $103,500 per year
• Eligibility for annual performance bonus based on individual and company performance

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze accounting activities in compliance with U.S. GAAP to control financial resources and ensure regulatory compliance
• Prepare and review general ledger and project accounting activities
• Perform monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financial statements
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to accurately represent financial standing
• Support internal and external audits to ensure process compliance and timely completion
• Lead small-scale projects
• Manage the CoStar lease database, including lease administration tasks related to equipment leases such as entering and abstracting lease contracts and coordinating with operating/local entities to obtain new contracts and modifications monthly

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical accounting skills and experience (highly preferred); lease administration work is part of the role
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA
• CPA or CMA certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Acute attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management system is a plus
