Senior Accountant

Overview

• Remote: Fully remote

This role is a hands-on Senior Accountant position responsible for managing and building the organization’s financial infrastructure. The focus includes executing day-to-day accounting work and establishing systems and processes to replace spreadsheet-based tracking, helping the finance function grow and mature.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including:
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts receivable
  • Expense tracking
  • Reconciliations
• Lead the transition from spreadsheet tracking to proper accounting software
• Establish consistent processes for financial close, aging reports, and other reporting
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule across multiple states, ensuring compliance
• Address classification and compliance issues as they arise
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records and processes at the transaction level

Requirements

• 3 to 5+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to systems implementation or process development
• Comfortable with detailed, hands-on accounting work
• Proven readiness to take ownership of accounting functions
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-state payroll processing
• CPA license

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per year, depending on experience
