Overview
A third-party management firm with decades of experience in real estate is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and process improvements. The organization manages a diverse portfolio including multifamily, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent, active adult, and student housing properties nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and post journal entries
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
- Research and resolve accounting issues
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for one or more regional offices, including variance analysis
- Research accounting guidance and prepare memos
- Assist in developing new processes and procedures to improve month-end close and financial reporting
- Improve coordination between property accounting and corporate accounting
- Support departmental initiatives to enhance efficiency and utilization of tools, including newly implemented ERP systems
- Analyze expenses and assist in budget preparation
- Prepare audit-related requests and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Multifamily property accounting experience preferred
- Strong critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of financial concepts
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail
This is a safety-sensitive position and may be subject to additional compliance requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $33 - $45 USD per hour
- Compensation is based on factors including skill sets, experience, training, and certifications
- The position is remote, and compensation reflects this arrangement
