Overview
This role involves applying accounting expertise to maintain financial accuracy, support month-end and quarterly close processes, prepare financial statements, and deliver analysis to guide business decisions. It is suited for a self-directed accounting professional who enjoys solving complex issues and collaborating across teams. The position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for financial statement and report production
- Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close
- Prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Prepare documentation to support external and internal audits
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, investigating issues and providing explanations
- Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position
- Assist with or lead the month-end and quarterly close process for assigned business units or groups
- Work independently on less structured, complex accounting issues
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting and/or finance experience in a corporate environment
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statements
- Intermediate or higher proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (including pivot tables)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare industry
- Accounts receivable and invoice processing experience
- Experience using Microsoft Access
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
- Ability to comply with the organization's telecommuting policy for remote work
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $60,200 - $107,400 annually (based on full-time employment and factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications)
