Overview
This role is within the client fulfillment department of a fintech company specializing in cloud-based accounting, payroll, tax, and advisory services for small businesses. The organization leverages AI-driven insights to support thousands of business owners and has received industry recognition for its bookkeeping solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage a personal book of clients, serving as the primary point of contact
- Maintain weekly and monthly client relationships
- Provide monthly financial reviews and additional support as needed
- Handle general ledger, month-end close functions, and financial reporting under tight deadlines
- Lead and manage 1-3 bookkeepers responsible for transactional bookkeeping tasks such as accounts payable/receivable, expense categorization, and reconciliations
- Delegate and review bookkeepers' work to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile tax returns to books and records
- Deliver services on time and within budget
- Complete backlog projects efficiently
- Communicate regularly with management regarding financial close, accounting issues, and deliverables
- Utilize multiple cloud-based accounting systems and integrated add-ons
- Set up and manage cloud technology integrations
- Review workflows and business operations to recommend technology and app solutions for increased efficiency
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience overseeing bookkeepers or staff accountants
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (BS/MS/MBA preferred)
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and meet deadlines
- Strong leadership and delegation skills
- Experience reconciling tax returns to accounting records
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in e-commerce, product companies, technology, professional services, or real estate industries
- Public accounting experience
- Consulting experience
- Expertise in accrual basis financial reporting
- Passion for helping small businesses
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year
- Eligibility for variable compensation after 6 months
