Overview
A Senior Accountant role is available for a full-time, exempt position based in the US with remote work options across multiple states (AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI).
This position supports and enhances financial close and reporting processes within a fast-paced, data-driven environment. The role involves ownership of key aspects of the monthly close, preparation and analysis of financial statements, and ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Responsibilities
- Manage components of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analyses
- Reconcile subledger activity to general ledger balances to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Perform detailed variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying drivers and providing clear explanations
- Prepare and coordinate financial reporting deliverables for management, segment, and corporate reporting
- Post payroll-related journal entries in NetSuite and ensure alignment with payroll reporting and controls
- Support general ledger accounting by preparing documentation and audit-ready support for transactions
- Maintain and enhance documentation of accounting processes and ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies
- Collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a large public accounting firm or 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in industry
- Hands-on experience preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses
- Experience with payroll accounting processes and related journal entries
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain financial concepts
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or CPA candidate status
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Experience working in a high-volume, data-driven, or technology-enabled business

Compensation & Benefits
- Anticipated annual base salary: $90,000 - $100,000
- Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and skill level
