Overview

The organization is seeking a Strategic Finance professional to help build and expand its finance infrastructure. This is a foundational hire on a Strategic Finance team that is being set up as the business grows rapidly following a $150M Series D funding round and crossing $100M ARR.

This role will develop and expand the operating model, run reforecast and planning cycles, and produce reporting leadership and the board rely on. Due to the small team size, the role offers broad exposure to the full business and varied monthly priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Build out and manage a driver-based operating model, expanding it as the business becomes more complex while keeping it accurate and decision-ready.
  • Run the monthly and quarterly operating rhythm and reforecast cycle, including:
    • Calendar and input management
    • Budget vs. actuals
    • Variance analysis and clear explanations of why metrics changed.
  • Support headcount planning and the monthly refresh in partnership with People and team leaders, connecting hiring decisions to budget.
  • Prepare analysis for board and executive reporting, including:
    • Scorecard, ARR, cash, headcount, pipeline, and supporting detail.
  • Apply rigor to SaaS metrics so they are consistent and defensible, including:
    • ARR, NRR, GRR, magic number, CAC payback, LTV to CAC, and burn multiple.
  • Partner with Accounting, RevOps, and the Data team to analyze underlying data and surface insights that drive organization-wide decisions.
  • Lead ad hoc analysis as needed each quarter (e.g., pricing, segment economics, scenario work).

Requirements

  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience starting in investment banking, private equity, or restructuring, ideally with 1–2 years in an operating role (strategic finance, FP&A, or business finance) at a high-growth company.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including driver-based modeling, cohort analysis, and scenario work, with a high standard for accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Curiosity about how the business operates and the judgment to identify which metrics matter for decision-making.
  • Clear, concise communication skills and the ability to explain analysis in plain language.
  • High ownership mindset and comfort working with ambiguity without waiting for direction.
  • Comfort working directly with data and willingness to self-serve in a modern warehouse and BI stack (Snowflake and Omni).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth software company, particularly on a small finance team where ownership span was broad.
  • Familiarity with SaaS metrics and unit economics.
  • Exposure to AI or usage-based COGS/consumption economics and how they impact gross margin.
  • Experience partnering directly with a GTM or product org to influence spend and resource-allocation decisions.
