Overview

The organization is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Senior Finance Consultant with extensive experience in financial management for nonprofits. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in nonprofit accounting and substantial experience running a finance department.

This is a full-time role operating within core working hours from 9am–6pm Eastern and based in the United States. All candidates must have experience working directly in a finance department.

Responsibilities

Manage nonprofit accounting and finances, including financial operations and transaction management
Lead finance department functions and oversee the accounting process, including accounting software
Create financial management documents for both board and staff
Develop organization-wide financial systems in collaboration with senior staff
Oversee and drive projects to completion while managing 1–3 direct reports

Requirements

10+ years of nonprofit accounting experience, demonstrating proficiency in managing an organization’s accounting and finances, preferably in the arts sector
Extensive experience leading a finance department and managing all aspects of financial operations, including accounting software and transactions management
Extensive experience creating financial management documents for both board and staff
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting, reporting, and compliance
Expertise in utilizing Excel and QuickBooks Online
Strong communication skills
Dedication to excellent client service
