Overview

This role involves working as a Senior Financial Analyst specializing in Affordable Multifamily Commercial Real Estate. The position requires expertise in market elements affecting this sector and performing in-depth financial analysis to evaluate assets. The analyst will support Investment Sales Advisors by providing financial analysis, research, and preparing market data for client-facing documents and presentations. This role is suited for candidates interested in Affordable Housing, with a strong focus on quantitative and qualitative analysis, and a desire to grow within a rapidly expanding organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and break down P&L statements and rent rolls to provide strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Interpret complex Regulatory Agreements.
  • Maintain and utilize databases tracking investment sales activity, construction pipeline, and other real estate metrics.
  • Lead the creation of presentations involving complex financial analyses, offering strategic advice and actionable insights to clients.
  • Occasionally present and support analyses directly to clients.
  • Review industry surveys, benchmarks, economic, and demographic trends to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Conduct active research, writing, and proofreading of market intelligence for marketing materials.
  • Prepare and present analysis results clearly, including graphics and charts.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing priorities within a team environment.
  • Use market intelligence to craft compelling narratives for deals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs.
  • Strategic thinker capable of viewing situations from multiple perspectives and challenging decisions when appropriate.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and managing ambiguity to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, both internally and externally.
  • Highly organized, resourceful, flexible, and driven to complete tasks under pressure.
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex Regulatory Agreements.
  • Exceptional Excel modeling skills, including experience with VBA and complex formulas.
  • Experience with data analytics related to demographics, competitors, industry, and real estate trends.
  • Commercial awareness of the needs of various client groups such as investment management firms, brokers, and lenders.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Effective both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas clearly through writing and data visualization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) is a plus.
