Overview

This role supports expansion of the organization’s national Construction Services business. The organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst – Construction Services Pricing to shape growth by developing competitive pricing strategies that improve win rates for complex environmental compliance projects.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will provide industry knowledge and strategic pricing guidance that influences pursuit success, profitability, and long-term business growth. This is a regular, full-time, salaried position with benefits, and may be based anywhere within the continental United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of pricing strategies for complex, multi-million dollar environmental compliance and construction monitoring pursuits, including biological monitoring, environmental inspection, and cultural resources monitoring during construction.
  • Partner with business development, operations leaders, and proposal teams to develop pricing approaches that maximize win probability while maintaining profitability targets.
  • Evaluate pricing structures including day rate models, labor mixes, staffing assumptions, escalation factors, and risk considerations.
  • Develop and maintain pricing calculators, financial models, and estimating tools used to forecast labor, field staffing, travel, and project support costs.
  • Build standardized pricing frameworks for environmental compliance services during construction.
  • Continuously improve pricing tools based on lessons learned from completed projects and evolving market conditions.
  • Establish and maintain day rate pricing structures for field personnel including environmental inspectors, biological monitors, archaeological monitors, and other compliance specialists.
  • Develop staffing scenarios that account for schedule variability, construction sequencing, and regulatory monitoring requirements.
  • Monitor market pricing trends, competitor strategies, and client procurement models in the environmental and infrastructure sectors.
  • Evaluate post-project financial performance to refine pricing models and improve estimating accuracy.
  • Translate pricing assumptions into financial forecasts supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual business planning.
  • Analyze how pursuit pricing decisions affect backlog, revenue forecasts, and business unit financial performance.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to align pricing strategies with margin targets and growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with proposal managers, capture managers, and technical leads to develop cost-effective staffing plans and pricing narratives for proposals.
  • Participate in pursuit reviews, pricing strategy sessions, and proposal risk assessments.
  • Provide commercial insight during contract negotiations where pricing structure impacts risk and profitability.

Requirements

  • Knowledge normally obtained through a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in pricing, estimating, commercial management, or project controls within environmental consulting, engineering, or construction firms.
  • Direct experience developing pricing models for project-based services or labor-intensive field services.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, pricing calculators, and cost forecasting tools.
  • Experience supporting large infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including the ability to link pricing decisions to business unit financial performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience pricing environmental compliance services during construction, including cost estimates and pricing strategies.
  • Experience pricing profitable and competitive day rate and field staffing pricing models.
  • Experience pricing large infrastructure or construction phase environmental programs, including for transmission lines, renewable energy facilities, water infrastructure and/or transportation infrastructure.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary (USA-based position): $77,117.04/year to $106,411.50/year.
  • Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
  • Regular-status employees may be eligible for performance bonuses.
