Overview
This role is for a Senior Analyst to serve as an embedded finance partner for a functional area end to end. You will work closely with business leaders as their first-call finance partner—understanding their operating model, building and owning the models that drive headcount and spend decisions, and running a consistent monthly planning and review rhythm.
You will be assigned to an area based on strengths and where the business needs the most support. Areas may include support, G&A, or go-to-market. Prior experience in a specific function is not required; the focus is on your ability to learn how the business operates and produce analysis that leaders can act on.
Responsibilities
- Own the operating and capacity model for your assigned area, including how headcount and spend scale with business drivers.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning for your functions, including building narratives that explain variances.
- Run monthly business reviews with functional leaders: what happened, why it happened, and what it means for the rest of the year.
- Perform vendor and operating expense reviews, identifying where leverage exists and where it does not.
- Provide decision support between planning cycles, including business cases, scenario modeling, and ad hoc analysis for quarterly priorities.
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Approximately 2 to 5 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, or a comparable analytical role. The employer is open to years if the substance is there.
- Strong financial modeling skills and analytical judgment to validate (and challenge) answers.
- Communication skills and executive presence to work directly with functional leaders and hold your own in discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous tasks and own outcomes without close management.
- A work style that emphasizes automating repeatable parts of the job.
- Familiarity with AI tools, BI tools, SQL, or planning systems is a plus; support will be provided to build skills if you have the instinct but not the tools.
- Meaningful overlap with Pacific time (team located on the West Coast).
- Open to occasional travel for team and company onsite events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience automating FP&A processes.
- Experience using BI tools, SQL, or planning systems.
