Overview
A rapidly growing technology firm in the food industry is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to join their remote US-based team. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and plays a key part in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning within a SaaS environment backed by private equity ownership. The position offers opportunities to engage with private equity sponsors and M&A activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for CFO and private equity submissions
- Support forecasting, budgeting, scenario planning, and strategic projects
- Maintain and enhance financial planning models, reporting infrastructure, and dashboards using NetSuite, Maxio, Salesforce, Tableau/Power BI, and Excel
- Facilitate execution of monthly forecasts including headcount, operational, and capital expenditures
- Analyze and report on key SaaS operating metrics such as ARR, MRR, NRR, churn, CAC, CAC payback, LTV, Rule of 40, and gross retention
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations and Sales leadership to evaluate pipeline, bookings, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts
- Utilize AI-enabled tools and automation technologies to improve reporting efficiency and forecasting accuracy
- Prepare financial business case recommendations to optimize costs and communicate proposals to senior leadership
- Develop financial models and analytical methods to identify trends, interpret results, and optimize profitability
- Support preparation of Board of Directors, lender, and private equity investor reporting packages
- Assist leadership in evaluating strategic initiatives, capital allocation decisions, and acquisition opportunities
- Present project results, recommendations, and solutions to all levels of leadership
- Monitor variances to plan throughout the year, forecast results, and present findings
- Coordinate with leadership and departments to assess financial information needs and develop reports and tools
- Identify business opportunities and present recommendations to leadership
- Educate non-finance partners on business concepts to increase departmental business acumen
- Extract, analyze, and report on data including sales, ROI, and G&A spend, providing actionable recommendations
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Basic GAAP accounting knowledge
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize and manage priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with PC and MS Office Suite, especially advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ChatGPT Pro, Maxio, Tableau/Power BI, NetSuite, Salesforce, and SQL is a plus
- Ability to extract and analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and make actionable recommendations
- Proactive problem-solving mindset
- Experience performing ROI, profitability, and variance analyses
- Working knowledge of planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
- Skill in presenting financial data to various leadership levels
- Ability to respond quickly to changes in projects or business conditions
- Ability to manage financial data confidentially and professionally
- Minimal travel required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent education and experience
- 4-7 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, or related fields, with at least 2 years supporting SaaS businesses
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000 USD per year (remote)
- Eligibility for up to 10% annual bonus
