Overview
A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Senior General Ledger Accountant to join their Accounting team. This role involves a broad range of general ledger accounting activities including Cash, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Leases, Investments, Allocations, Intercompany transactions, and Payroll accounting. The position requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to independently research and resolve discrepancies. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and partners cross-functionally with teams such as FP&A, Payroll, People Operations, Payables Operations, and other business stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Experience in the SaaS industry, particularly in high-growth environments, is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules across various general ledger accounts including Cash, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Leases, Investments, Payroll, and other balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Payroll, People Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by analyzing financial results, investigating variances and discrepancies, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Perform flux and variance analyses across key accounts, utilizing data analytics and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and internal control enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the accounting function.
- Support external audits, special projects, system implementations, and other accounting initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role, ideally within a high-growth SaaS environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Highly proficient in Excel and comfortable working with large datasets; experience with AI-enabled tools is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills with a proven track record of identifying discrepancies and implementing process improvements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining audit-ready support for all entries.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight month-end deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively partner with cross-functional teams.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
