Overview
A fast-growing provider of sustainable data centers and energy infrastructure is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to support indirect tax compliance, reporting, and audit processes across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves ensuring accurate reporting of business assets, timely filing of returns, and proper application of valuation and depreciation methods while minimizing tax exposure and maintaining compliance with applicable laws. The position offers an opportunity to enhance technical tax skills and make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and filing of sales & use tax and property tax returns, unclaimed property reports, business licenses, annual reports, and other state and local compliance activities
- Assist with or lead state and local tax audits, including documentation and issue resolution
- Complete accounting activities such as accruals and reconciliations for sales/use tax, property taxes, and unclaimed property
- Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls
- Contribute to departmental and company-wide initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally and deliver presentations on tax-related matters
- Conduct tax research and examination to support technical positions and business transactions
- Assist with other ad hoc tax projects and compliance tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
- Minimum 4+ years of indirect tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in REIT, infrastructure, or telecom/data center industries
- Experience with multi-jurisdictional personal property tax filings
- Exposure to sales & use tax or property tax compliance
