Senior NetSuite Accounting Consultant

Overview

A leading NetSuite professional consultancy with over 25 years of experience is seeking a senior-level NetSuite accounting consultant. The organization serves businesses with annual revenues of $20 million and above, supporting clients ranging from NetSuite beginners to advanced users aiming to maximize their platform capabilities. This role focuses on delivering high-level accounting solutions within NetSuite to improve operational efficiency and financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in end-to-end NetSuite accounting engagements, including discovery, design, configuration, testing, and delivery.
• Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of accountability for accounting outcomes.
• Diagnose accounting issues by identifying root causes across workflows, entity structures, and transaction design.
• Translate accounting and business requirements into scalable NetSuite configurations.
• Perform hands-on configuration work and guide broader solution architecture.
• Coordinate developers and technical resources for customizations and integrations.
• Present recommendations to CFOs, Controllers, and senior finance leaders.
• Ensure outputs are accurate, auditable, and compliant with accounting standards.
• Drive efficiency by reducing manual workarounds and improving system integrity.
• Maintain strong execution discipline with minimal rework and clear documentation.

Technical and Functional Focus

• Deep expertise in multi-entity accounting and intercompany structures, including consolidation logic.
• Strong command of general ledger architecture and transaction flow integrity.
• Hands-on experience with at least one advanced domain such as Accounts Receivable Management (ARM), SuiteBilling, ZoneBilling, or SuiteTax.
• Working knowledge of inventory and costing concepts within NetSuite.
• Exposure to integrations, reporting structures, and cross-system data flows.
• Ability to improve accounting processes through system design rather than manual fixes.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting background with ownership of financial outcomes, typically from Controller or Accounting Manager roles.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience and at least 3 years of hands-on NetSuite configuration.
• Deep understanding of financial reporting, reconciliation, and close processes.
• Proven ability to solve complex accounting issues directly within NetSuite.
• Experience operating independently in a consulting or project-based environment.
• CPA or equivalent credential preferred, along with NetSuite certification.
• Exposure to SQL, SuiteQL, or advanced reporting tools is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable managing multiple engagements and shifting priorities.
• Proficient use of AI or AI-assisted tools to improve financial analysis, automate workflows, enhance reporting accuracy, or accelerate diagnostics within NetSuite or related systems, while maintaining strong accounting judgment.
