Overview
This role is for a Revenue Accountant within a growing SaaS organization that has surpassed $400M in ARR. The Revenue Accounting team plays a key tactical and strategic role in the Accounting and Finance departments, supporting revenue recognition and financial reporting for a diverse customer base including both consumers and businesses. The position reports to the Manager of Revenue Accounting and offers exposure to technical accounting, operational processes, and systems.
This is a remote opportunity available to candidates based in Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities
- Book journal entries related to revenue and associated accounts such as accounts receivable, allowance for doubtful accounts, deferred revenue, and cash
- Perform month-end reconciliations for revenue-related balance sheet accounts
- Prepare month-end analysis of profit & loss and balance sheet account variances
- Produce clear, well-structured documentation and memos
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits
- Execute key internal controls
- Perform ad hoc projects as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS company or public accounting firm
- CPA or CA designation, or actively pursuing such a designation is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software such as NetSuite and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Salesforce and/or Stripe is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize independently
- Strong commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines
- Passion for the accounting profession
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to analyze monthly and quarterly revenue trends and support financial planning and analysis
- Familiarity with internal controls and audit processes
Compensation & Benefits
- USA-based roles: Annual base salary between $92,000 USD and $129,000 USD
- Canada-based roles: Annual base salary between $82,000 CAD and $115,000 CAD
