Overview
This fully remote Senior Accountant position involves applying accounting principles and statistical analysis to maintain control and accountability in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The role includes monitoring and maintaining various general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries and detailed reports, and generating financial statements and analyses that reflect the organization's financial status and activities. The Senior Accountant may also assist in training or supervising staff accounting personnel and ensures timely and accurate processing of account reconciliations, billings, disbursement requests, and account analyses.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain control of various general ledger accounts
- Prepare journal entries and detailed financial reports
- Prepare financial statements and analyses reflecting financial status and activities
- Assist in training or supervising staff accounting personnel as needed
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of account reconciliations, billings, disbursement requests, and account analyses
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of three years of related accounting experience
- Ability to apply accounting principles to complex transactions
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CIA, or CMA designation preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate complex accounting principles
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
