Overview

A sophisticated accounting and advisory practice specializing in serving high-net-worth individuals and their business enterprises, particularly in the real estate industry, is seeking a CPA with 7–10 years of public accounting experience. This is a fully remote opportunity based anywhere in the US, with a preference for a hybrid schedule if located near the Encino office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex Partnership, S Corporation, Individual, Trust, and Estate tax returns
  • Review and adjust client-prepared accounting records
  • Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements
  • Participate in proactive tax planning throughout the year
  • Coordinate with attorneys, wealth advisors, and other outside advisors
  • Perform tax research and prepare written analyses
  • Assist with tax controversy examinations and notices
  • Maintain direct client relationships and communicate regularly
  • Identify planning opportunities and proactively present ideas to clients and partners
  • Participate in special projects involving transactions, restructurings, and consulting matters
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and developing junior staff
  • Support workflow and AI initiatives to improve quality and productivity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with strong accounting knowledge
  • Active CPA license
  • 7–10 years of public accounting experience, preferably from a respected mid-to-large local or regional firm
  • Significant experience with complex partnership and real estate tax, and high-net-worth clients
  • Strong knowledge of 704(b), 704(c), 754, 1031, 163(j), 199A, trusts and estate taxation, pass-through entities, and multi-state tax issues preferred
  • Experience with Lacerte, CCH Workstream, SafeSend, Laserfiche, QuickBooks, and Office 365 preferred
  • Ability to work 50-55 hours per week during peak tax seasons
  • Full-time remote work available; hybrid schedule preferred if near the Encino office

  • Embraces technology and workflow efficiencies, including AI tools
  • Self-directed and takes ownership of responsibilities and client relationships

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $150,000 to $180,000, commensurate with experience
