Overview

A leading organization in the life sciences industry is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support domestic tax operations. This role involves preparing the income tax provision, coordinating income tax compliance with external partners, managing information requests, driving non-income tax compliance, and supporting tax account reconciliations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly and annual global ASC 740 tax provisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Calculate tax implications related to ASC 718 Stock-Based Compensation, Section 162(m), and other tax provision components.
  • Support tax accounting control compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Manage internal and external information requests for tax provision, compliance, and audits.
  • Review income tax return workpapers and returns prepared by external service providers, verifying book/tax differences, state apportionment, and required disclosures.
  • Coordinate compliance timelines and review corporate income tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax workpapers.
  • Share responsibility for accurate and timely calculation and processing of tax payments to avoid late or missed filings.
  • Oversee non-income tax operational pipeline, ensuring timely filing of federal, state, and local business licenses, gross receipts, and payments.
  • Draft initial responses to federal and state notices and tax audits, compiling documentation to support inquiries.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger tax account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Conduct research and provide analysis on tax implications of specific transactions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in federal and state income tax compliance and reporting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a CPA firm.
  • Foundational expertise in preparing ASC 740 tax provision models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (B.S./B.A.).
  • CPA license or Master’s degree in Taxation.
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms or multinational corporations.
  • Previous exposure to Netsuite.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $90,000 - $150,000, dependent on experience and location.
