Overview

This role involves conducting property tax reviews and managing accounts for assigned clients. The position requires analysis and consulting related to complex personal property compliance projects and assessment reviews of machinery and equipment across various industries including industrial manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, communication, and energy. Responsibilities also include implementing tax savings recommendations and strategies, as well as leading business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate client management during and after the review process
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships, focusing on expanding services and cross-selling
  • Collaborate with internal Business Development teams to identify and develop property tax opportunities
  • Conduct physical inspections of manufacturing, energy, communication, mining, and oil & gas facilities and meet with on-site management
  • Present findings and make recommendations to clients
  • Communicate with state and local taxing authorities to resolve issues through negotiations, appeals, and board hearings
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of real and personal property tax laws, rules, regulations, and court decisions
  • Perform detailed industry and economic research to identify potential tax savings opportunities
  • Maintain a general understanding of other service lines for cross-selling purposes
  • Proactively research complex tax issues and share information with relevant groups and personnel
  • Participate as a speaker or panel member at tax community events, regional, and national conferences
  • Coordinate and review activities of Analysts, Consultants, and Tax Managers

Additional Duties

  • Assist Directors and business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related field; coursework in Appraisal is desired
  • Additional credentials or certifications are preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in property tax consulting, appraisal, or a closely related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Valid Driver’s License
