Specialist - Cost Control OCST20

Overview

This role supports cost control and project controls activities for engineering and EPC projects. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining control budgets, forecasting phasing, monitoring progress and productivity, and performing variance analysis with clear explanations of causes, impacts, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Independently establish and maintain control budgets
• Own and manage ETC/EAC and forecast phasing
• Monitor engineering hours, progress, and productivity
• Perform variance analysis, including:
  • Explaining causes
  • Assessing impacts
  • Defining corrective actions
• Align cost/forecast with the project schedule
• Manage project controls activity monitoring and analysis
• Support month-end accruals and close activities
• Support budgeting and forecasting of project costs
• Provide management reporting and internal reporting (Cost & Revenue)
• Support invoicing, project cost analysis, procurement management, and project monitoring & control measures
• Apply change management skills as needed
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and improved process workflows
• Communicate effectively to build and maintain internal and external relationships
• Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy

Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of experience in Cost Control / Cost Engineering
• Project Controls experience with an engineering background
• Strong fundamentals in cost control techniques
• Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP/ SAP / MS Dynamics 360
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office software, SAP)
• Excellent Excel skills; Power Pivot & Power BI is added advantage
• Advance Excel skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-starter
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Proactively contributes to the team

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience handling detail engineering and EPC project experience
• Experience with process improvement and improving process workflows
