Overview
This part-time Senior Accountant II role is a key position within the Finance Organization, responsible for supporting accounting and financial reporting functions approximately 8 to 10 hours per week. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Responsibilities
- Assist financial management with various special projects as assigned
- Support accounting and financial reporting activities, including preparing financial statements and reports
- Proactively identify, research, and resolve accounting and finance-related issues
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Perform accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis
- Collaborate with finance team members to support reporting and analysis needs
- Stay current on accounting principles, standards, and best practices; recommend process improvements
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Assist with audit processes and provide support to external auditors as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably within government contracting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and best practices
- Proven experience preparing financial statements and reports
- Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with MS Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Experience with accounting systems and technologies is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $60.00 to $75.00 per hour
- Salary range reflects anticipated base pay based on national data; actual pay may vary by location and individual qualifications
