Sr Accountant II

Overview

This part-time Senior Accountant II role is a key position within the Finance Organization, responsible for supporting accounting and financial reporting functions approximately 8 to 10 hours per week. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist financial management with various special projects as assigned
• Support accounting and financial reporting activities, including preparing financial statements and reports
• Proactively identify, research, and resolve accounting and finance-related issues
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
• Perform accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis
• Collaborate with finance team members to support reporting and analysis needs
• Stay current on accounting principles, standards, and best practices; recommend process improvements
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Assist with audit processes and provide support to external auditors as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably within government contracting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and best practices
• Proven experience preparing financial statements and reports
• Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent computer skills, particularly with MS Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Experience with accounting systems and technologies is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $60.00 to $75.00 per hour
• Salary range reflects anticipated base pay based on national data; actual pay may vary by location and individual qualifications
• Eligibility to participate in an annual performance bonus or commission program, depending on position nature
