SR. Accountant (Part-time, Remote)

Overview

The organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to independently own core accounting operations fully remote and part-time.

This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who can run the books solo with minimal supervision and values flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements for three states
• Complete monthly transaction reconciliations for all bank and credit card accounts
• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
• Calculate and file sales tax across multiple jurisdictions
• Produce monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
• Prepare quarterly financial reporting for leadership
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting as needed
• Provide documentation and schedules to support external tax preparers and/or auditors
• Identify discrepancies or process gaps proactively and recommend improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of full-cycle, hands-on accounting experience (not entry-level)
• Ability to own the full accounting cycle independently
• Strong skills with QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel
• Self-starter who communicates proactively and does not require close supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a sole or lead accounting contributor
• Prior experience in multi-unit retail, museums, attractions, or hospitality
