Sr. Accounting Specialist

Overview

An accounting services organization specializing in managing complex client portfolios is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist. The role focuses on handling advanced accounting tasks, ensuring quality control, and supporting efficient financial management through QuickBooks Online and proprietary accounting systems with an emphasis on automation and modern technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close and financial reporting using QuickBooks Online and proprietary systems
• Prepare and document advanced journal entries
• Handle job costing, inventory tracking, and class/location-based reporting
• Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations
• Develop and maintain client-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and workflows
• Serve as the main client contact, leading calls and resolving escalations
• Review junior team members’ work and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in small business or firm settings
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accrual accounting and GAAP principles
• Experience with job costing, inventory management, and class/location reporting
• Proficiency in managing third-party integrations
• Skilled in documentation and workflow mapping
• Confident communicator capable of leading client meetings and explaining financial information
