Overview

The Senior FP&A Analyst leads complex financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making for assigned business areas. This role manages the month-end close process, delivers insightful variance analysis, and enhances financial models and reporting frameworks. It also oversees ERP metadata accuracy and supports continuous process improvement across FP&A workflows. Additionally, the Senior Analyst mentors Financial Analysts and serves as a key liaison between analysts, management, and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses for assigned business areas, providing accurate and well-supported insights to inform leadership decisions.
  • Support month-end close activities including volume estimation, accrual development, and reconciliation review to ensure financial result integrity.
  • Perform advanced variance analysis comparing results against budget, forecast, and prior year; synthesize findings into clear, actionable commentary for leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive annual budgets and integrated forecast models aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
  • Design, enhance, and govern financial reporting templates and dashboards supporting planning cycles, performance reviews, and operational reporting.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, automation, and reporting efficiency within FP&A workflows.
  • Execute complex ad hoc analyses and provide analytical leadership on special projects, strategic initiatives, and executive-level reporting.
  • Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance, training, and developmental feedback to Financial Analysts to support skill growth and analytical quality.
  • Act as a liaison between analysts, management, and cross-functional partners to ensure effective communication, priority alignment, and consistent delivery of financial insights.
  • Oversee the structure, maintenance, and accuracy of ERP metadata for assigned business areas to ensure consistent and reliable financial reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a large, complex business environment in Accounting or Finance.
  • Previous experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while delivering accurate, reliable, high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated expertise in reviewing and analyzing financial results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all personnel levels, tailoring information appropriately.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding sensitive information.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to keep key personnel on task regardless of their position.
  • Keen awareness of potential challenges, risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Hyperion Essbase/Smartview.
