Overview
This Senior Financial Analyst role supports the organization by providing timely, accurate, and insightful analyses of business expense performance to management. The position involves gathering, analyzing, preparing, and summarizing recommendations for financial plans, future requirements, and operating forecasts. The analyst develops, interprets, and implements financial concepts for planning and control while performing technical analyses to assess present and future financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, identify, and communicate financial expense performance to business partners
- Review and approve expense requisitions, highlighting items outside budget parameters
- Develop departmental financial and project expense benchmarks and reporting
- Create ad-hoc analyses and business forecasts
- Support accounting close processes and audit reporting
- Design and implement scalable processes and procedures to report key business metrics
- Identify and drive implementation of cost reduction and process improvement projects
- Collaborate with all functional groups to meet financial and corporate goals
- Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) regularly in both paper and electronic forms, using various technologies
- Complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, general policies and procedure compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire
- Maintain current status on all required training
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, VBA macros, and lookup functions
- Strong skills with financial systems and business applications, including database tools such as Qlikview
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills focused on solving moderate to complex financial issues
- Experience supporting R&D or Engineering organizations preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter capable of working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects, identify interdependencies, and assess risks
- Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality while adhering to policies and practices
- Collaborative work style with strong service orientation and ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $100,900 to $120,000 USD
