Overview
This role involves supporting financial performance by managing R&D spend and return on investment through detailed financial planning and analysis. The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for R&D will track and analyze R&D project costs, develop financial models, and provide insights to senior leadership to inform budgeting, forecasting, and investment decisions.
Responsibilities
- Track time and costs associated with R&D activities across various business units and corporate initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
- Monitor and analyze trends in R&D resource deployment and communicate findings to executives and senior leaders through presentations and dashboards
- Build and maintain labor and financial models that aggregate individual time and costs into comprehensive financial summaries
- Develop critical business case inputs to support planning and investment decisions
- Collaborate with Technical Accounting and Fixed Assets teams to ensure proper treatment and documentation of capital projects
- Assist in preparing budgeting and forecasting materials for executive discussions
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports detailing R&D performance
- Identify key insights from performance trends and provide detailed analysis
- Streamline project tracking processes to enhance transparency for stakeholders
- Support investor presentations and fulfill data requirements for external reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in FP&A, private equity, or a similar finance role
- Experience supporting R&D finance functions, including familiarity with time-tracking tools such as Jira or similar platforms, and ability to translate non-financial data into financial metrics
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with and influence senior leaders
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Aptitude for leveraging AI tools and participating in operational transformation initiatives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $67,000.00 - $87,100.00 USD
- Individual compensation will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location
