Overview

This role supports the Program Finance team, responsible for day-to-day financial planning and reporting across multiple programs. The position can be based in the employer’s Palo Alto, CA office or remotely within the US.

The team partners closely with Program Managers, CAMs, the CFO, and senior executives to plan business needs and allocate budget and resources for satellite programs and other strategic R&D initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Program Managers and CAMs to oversee program spend, including cost of sales, R&D expenses, and capital expenditures
  • Lead monthly Cost-Plus analysis and reporting
  • Perform monthly variance analysis for these costs and use results to identify program risks and opportunities
  • Review weekly labor and non-labor expenses; provide metrics to the program team
  • Track monthly spend against forecasts, flagging issues and helping CAMs identify trade-offs to stay within budget
  • Provide cost analysis to support contract change orders for assigned programs
  • Assist in leading monthly program financial forecasting reviews to create and maintain accurate forecasts
  • Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes and monthly/quarterly financial cycles
  • Provide ad hoc financial modeling and financial analysis
  • Support special projects and Finance process improvements

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Experience with Cost Plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics; four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of overall experience, with at least 4 years in a Financial Analyst role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP/Tableau/Alteryx
  • Experience working with Cost Plus reporting (e.g., NASA 533M and 533Q forms)
  • Prior experience in an aerospace/Defense environment
  • Superior analytical skills, strong business judgment, and ability to clearly and concisely communicate with management-level personnel
  • Master level skills with Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Active team player; able to work effectively under pressure
  • Organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task while maintaining accuracy
  • Integrity with confidential information
  • Creativity in solving complex problems
  • Ability to work independently in support of team objectives

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay ranges (US)

  • Colorado: $76,000.00 - $126,000.00 annually
  • New Jersey: $76,000.00 - $126,000.00 annually
  • Delaware: $76,000.00 - $126,000.00 annually
  • Washington, DC metropolitan area: $83,000.00 - $139,000.00 annually
  • California: $87,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually

For all other states, geographic cost of labor is used to develop market-driven ranges, so locations may have different ranges.
