Overview

This role is for a Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting responsible for leading revenue recognition processes and ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards. The position reports to the Senior Director of Revenue Accounting and requires expertise in revenue accounting, technical knowledge of ASC 606, and hands-on experience with NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM).

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end revenue close processes across all subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with ASC 606 and company policies.
  • Conduct detailed contract reviews and analyses for complex arrangements such as multi-element bundles, subscription renewals, and professional services milestones to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
  • Serve as primary owner and administrator of the NetSuite ARM module, driving automation and continuous improvements in system utilization and accuracy.
  • Maintain deferred revenue schedules, roll-forwards, and reconciliations, ensuring balance integrity and supporting fluctuation analysis for leadership and auditors.
  • Prepare and own revenue-related SEC disclosures, including GAAP-compliant footnotes, revenue disaggregation schedules, and narrative disclosures for quarterly and annual filings.
  • Act as primary contact for external auditors on revenue-related matters, providing efficient and organized audit support.
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos documenting positions on complex or non-standard revenue arrangements under ASC 606.
  • Evaluate revenue impact and accounting treatment for new business initiatives such as product launches, pricing changes, and go-to-market programs, and implement scalable automated processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 1-3 revenue accounting professionals, fostering accountability and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Business Systems to provide revenue accounting guidance and ensure proper treatment of new contract structures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience at a Big 4 or national public accounting firm is a significant plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years progressive revenue accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience in a public company environment with ownership of SEC revenue disclosures and external audit coordination.
  • Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially ASC 606, with ability to interpret and apply guidance to complex multi-element arrangements.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), including configuration, maintenance, and process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting or supporting Standalone Selling Price (SSP) studies for multi-element arrangements.
  • Familiarity with SOX 404 internal controls related to the revenue cycle in a public company.
  • Strong communication skills to translate complex accounting concepts into clear guidance for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of identifying automation opportunities and driving process efficiencies in revenue close cycles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment with strong self-direction and cross-functional collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $128,000 - $160,000 plus bonus.
