Overview
An established global medical products and technologies organization is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its North America Tax Team. This role focuses on managing and supporting a broad range of corporate tax functions, including federal and state direct and indirect tax compliance and tax provision. The position requires strong tax technical knowledge, analytical skills, and collaboration to ensure compliance with U.S. tax laws and support strategic tax objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare annual and half-year U.S. income tax provisions under IFRS for approximately 18 domestic entities, including data collection, tax package preparation, data reconciliation, current and deferred income tax workings, deferred tax roll-forward schedules, and reconciliation of federal and state income and franchise tax payable accounts.
- Analyze U.S. P&L and book-to-tax adjustment drivers for IFRS and cash tax variances.
- Assist with provision to return true-up and deferred tax asset (DTA) studies.
- Support the Senior Tax Manager with SOX-related items and maintain key internal control processes and procedures.
- Coordinate and review U.S. federal and state income and franchise tax returns prepared by external advisors, ensuring accuracy and completeness; lead data requests, review calculations, disclosures, attachments, and workpapers.
- Manage data and oversee indirect tax return preparation by third parties.
- Support IRS and state tax audits by compiling supporting documentation and drafting responses.
- Conduct technical tax research and analysis related to changes in tax law and assess their impact.
- Assist with preparation, modeling, and documentation to support income tax positions, tax accounting methods, and processes, including interest limitation under Section 163(j) and foreign source income positions such as GILTI and BEAT.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation within the tax function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
- 3-6 years of relevant U.S. tax experience, ideally combining public accounting and corporate tax.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate income tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel; experience with Power BI and Alteryx is advantageous.
- Motivated and self-driven.
