Overview
This role involves supporting the accounting function by developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting systems such as Journal Entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, and Revenue Reconciliation. The staff accountant will prepare accurate and timely financial records, support month-end close activities, ensure data integrity, assist with financial reporting and analysis, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support informed business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all financial information is recorded in accordance with GAAP, Federal and State regulations, and consistent with established policies and procedures
- Prepare and enter daily and month-end journal entries
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations promptly and accurately, including detailed research and analysis of account differences
- Participate in the monthly close process
- Assist with quarter and year-end audits as required
- Serve as a liaison with other departments regarding accounting information and assigned areas
- Work directly with operational personnel to understand processes behind assigned accounts
- Analyze department processes and procedures and recommend improvements
- Participate in special projects as needed
- Maintain sensitive and confidential information

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of public accounting principles and practices
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify alternative solutions
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to set priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP) and Word
- Ability to manage deadlines and maintain customer satisfaction
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Oracle Financial software
- Two years of experience in general ledger accounting
