Staff Accountant

Overview

A Security and IT Managed Services Provider specializing in Cybersecurity for the Defense Industrial Base is seeking a Staff Accountant. The organization focuses on integrating compliance and threat mitigation to enhance security postures and optimize security investments. Operating primarily in a remote environment, the company is experiencing rapid growth.

Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and classify them appropriately
• Maintain organized accounting records to support financial reporting and audits
• Prepare and maintain monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations
• Process invoices and manage accounts payable using Tipalti
• Oversee vendor onboarding and contract recordkeeping
• Monitor accounts payable communications and respond to vendor inquiries
• Ensure three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Prepare and file annual 1099 reports
• Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation
• Reconcile employee expenses processed through TriNet and verify approvals
• Provide expense details for customer billing
• Assist with audit requests and maintain compliance documentation
• Support Finance leadership with additional accounting and operational tasks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate or high-growth environments
• Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Tipalti, and expense platforms like TriNet preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles

Compensation & Benefits

• Budgeted pay range: $70,000 to $82,500 USD annually
