Overview
This remote position requires residency in Florida, Texas, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia.
An online brokerage and trading ecosystem is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their Finance department. The role reports directly to the Controller and supports Broker-Dealer and FCM operations along with affiliates. The primary focus is maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with monthly close, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting. The position also involves supporting internal and external audit processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily cash reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly financial close
- Assist in preparing regulatory filings
- Research and resolve issues related to accounts, records, and reports
- Support data gathering and information requests for external audits
- Recommend and implement process improvements where appropriate
- Assist with ad-hoc requests
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years accounting experience
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all management levels
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office products
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and team player
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
