Overview

This is a full-time, exempt Staff Accountant position based in the US (remote) with eligibility limited to the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI.

The role supports financial close and reporting processes within a fast-paced, data-driven environment. It involves preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and assisting with the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes under senior accounting staff direction
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for review
  • Reconcile subledger activity to general ledger balances; identify discrepancies and escalate as needed
  • Support variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Assist in preparing financial reporting deliverables for management and corporate reporting, including segment-level support
  • Post payroll-related journal entries in NetSuite under guidance
  • Prepare documentation and audit-ready support for general ledger transactions
  • Maintain documentation of accounting processes and support internal controls and company policies
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects
  • Support process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry
  • Experience or coursework in account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses
  • Exposure to payroll accounting processes and related journal entries
  • Basic working knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA licensure
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field, or completion of 150 credit hours toward CPA licensure
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Experience in a high-volume, data-driven or technology-enabled business
  • Internship or entry-level corporate accounting experience

  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven with multiple priorities
  • Collaborative work across Accounting, Finance, and business teams
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities under senior team supervision

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated annual base salary: $75,000–$85,000, depending on experience, education, and skill level
