Overview
This fully remote Staff Accountant role supports general accounting functions across multiple areas of the organization. The position reports directly to the Accounting Controller and requires a process-oriented approach, familiarity with GAAP, and experience working in an ERP environment.
Responsibilities
General Ledger and Systems
- Support accounting activities including Quote to Cash and Procure to Pay, including preparation and posting of journal entries, entering bank transactions, balance sheet account reconciliations, and other general accounting duties.
- Manage employee expenses.
- Participate in formal month-end close procedures, including prepaid expenses, accruals, deferred revenue, allocations, and reconciliations, to ensure accurate and timely completion.
- Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger, including monthly depreciation.
- Help ensure business transactions are reasonable, appropriate, and necessary.
Technical Accounting and Compliance
- Assist with federal, state, and local tax filing processes, including 1099 reporting and NEXUS review.
- Assist with annual external financial audits and other required financial audits, including preparation of audit schedules and gathering supporting documentation.
- Support the accounting team in developing and maintaining policies, including internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- 1–3 years in a Staff Accountant role.
- Recent experience with an ERP handling accounting transactions.
- Experience participating in the month-end close process.
- Must have worked in a fully remote environment for at least 1 consecutive year in the past 3 years.
- Experience supporting AP/AR functions and tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, proactively, and respectfully in a remote-first environment through verbal and written channels.
- Understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
- Proficient in Excel, including maintaining schedules and reconciliations.
- Ability to efficiently organize and navigate electronic file systems.
- Ability to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
- Ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines while working remotely.
- Must be able to travel to the Texas warehouse location for the first two days of employment to participate in new hire onboarding (company-paid travel provided).
- Occasional travel may be required based on business needs, including company meetings, conferences, customer events, and professional development opportunities.
- Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation
- Salary range: $65,000 - $72,000.
- Final compensation will be determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
