Overview

This role involves preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and enterprise allocation methods.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial reporting audits, collaborating with internal audits, state insurance department, independent auditors, and industry associations.
  • Support special projects as directed.
  • Analyze and review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Perform general accounting functions including journal entry preparation, invoice coding, accounting analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare supporting financial data as required.
  • Reconcile, confirm, and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • If degree is in Finance, successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II is required.
  • Employees actively enrolled in an accredited collegiate program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance will be considered once they have successfully completed Intermediate Accounting I & II.

Experience

  • Prior accounting experience is desirable.

  • This position is classified as level three (3) and requires ensuring the security and confidentiality of records and information to prevent harm or unfairness to individuals.

  • Adherence to segregation of duties guidelines is required to prevent or detect errors or irregularities in a timely manner.

  • General Office Worker, Sedentary, Campus Travel: Primarily office-based or remote work with routine travel within walking distance of the primary work location.
