Overview
This role involves preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and enterprise allocation methods.
Responsibilities
- Assist with financial reporting audits, collaborating with internal audits, state insurance department, independent auditors, and industry associations.
- Support special projects as directed.
- Analyze and review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Perform general accounting functions including journal entry preparation, invoice coding, accounting analysis, and reconciliation.
- Prepare supporting financial data as required.
- Reconcile, confirm, and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- If degree is in Finance, successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II is required.
- Employees actively enrolled in an accredited collegiate program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance will be considered once they have successfully completed Intermediate Accounting I & II.
Experience
- Prior accounting experience is desirable.
