Staff Accountant - Client Accounting Services

Overview

Staff Accountant opportunity with a fully remote, client-focused accounting and advisory organization. The role involves owning a portfolio of clients and performing true accounting work (not data entry bookkeeping).

This position is available as part of an expansion and the organization is looking to hire two (2) Staff Accountants.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on an ongoing basis
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L and balance sheets
• Record and review journal entries for payroll, revenue, accruals, and adjustments
• Support month-end close with accuracy and consistency
• Assist with cleanup of prior-period books for new clients when needed
• Collaborate with managers and teammates to ensure work is completed on time
• Occasionally join onboarding or client calls when clarification or support is needed

What Success Looks Like

• Clients’ books remain clean and current
• Bank feeds are reviewed regularly (not left until month-end)
• Clients receive timely responses and clear communication
• Comfort managing clients with varying levels of complexity
• Consistent work throughout the month rather than cramming at the end

Requirements

• 2 or more years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a public accounting or outsourced accounting environment
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Solid understanding of debits and credits and how financial statements work
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Cleanup experience is a BIG PLUS
