Overview
This role performs accounting tasks including detailed analysis, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and established accounting practices.
Pay
$55,000/yr
Responsibilities
- Perform accounting for various business transactions and ensure they are properly recorded and accurately reflected in the financial statements
- Analyze financial data and use independent judgment to identify variances; when possible, resolve accounting operating system issues
- Compile statistical information and develop procedures to improve current processes
- Research a wide variety of financial topics to provide information or recommendations that impact operations
- Complete general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
- Conform and adhere to internal controls over accounting procedures as set forth by upper management
- Interface frequently with various levels within the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred)
- General Ledger accounting and reconciliation experience in a corporate environment
- Thorough understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlines
- Experience completing detailed accounting schedules
- Ability to read and understand P&L statements
- Strong computer, presentation, and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
