Staff Accountant

Overview

A growing eCommerce and television enterprise specializing in high-quality numismatic coins is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. The organization is headquartered in Torrance, California and has been operating since 2014. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly closings, and improving accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP standards.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with monthly closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting procedures.
• Work with order management and eCommerce systems to ensure financial data integrity.
• Manage inventory systems, perform reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare, file, and maintain state sales tax reports in compliance with regulations.
• Perform payroll reconciliations ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
• Reconcile merchant credit card transactions and address discrepancies.
• Support additional accounting functions such as data entry, accounts payable/receivable, and audit preparation as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or data entry roles.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 100, or Oracle.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, formulas, reporting).
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and payroll reconciliation.
• Experience with order management and eCommerce systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and state sales tax reporting preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Hourly wage ranging from $28 to $32, based on experience.
