Overview
This contract position involves serving as a strategic advisor and consultant to clients in healthcare and human services sectors, focusing on consumers with chronic conditions and complex support needs such as mental health, addictions, autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities, long-term support services, social services, children’s services, juvenile justice, and corrections health care. The role supports organizational efficiency and effectiveness through expertise in strategy development, performance management, financial analysis, operations management analysis, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and other accounting and financial areas.
Responsibilities
- Act as project manager for financially focused projects, managing internal and client teams and project workplans to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Serve as subject matter expert on projects with smaller financial components.
- Prepare client-facing deliverables, authoring recommendations based on analysis, expert input, and market research.
- Participate in business development activities including proposal development and writing to generate new and additional work.
- Prepare articles and written materials for organizational publications.
- Deliver presentations virtually and in person at educational and training events.
- Track personal billable hours across multiple projects and manage billable hours for entire projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of healthcare experience working with provider organizations, preferably in health and human services.
- Ability to understand business challenges, assess client situations, develop strategies and solutions, draft reports, prepare presentations, and present recommendations.
- Experience creating budgets, calculating service unit costing, and conducting service line pricing and analyses.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Expert proficiency in Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret financial statements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including project status updates and client presentations.
- High attention to detail in accuracy, grammar, formatting, and presentation quality.
- Visual acuity for data preparation, analysis, computer use, and extensive reading.
- Ability to travel overnight, unattended, throughout the continental United States.
Compensation
- Salary starting at $100,000+, depending on experience.
