A well-established accounting and advisory firm with over 40 years of experience is seeking a Tax Manager to join their team. The firm serves a diverse range of industries including construction, architecture and engineering, not-for-profit, healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, financial services, and real estate. With more than 550 employees and multiple offices across the New York Metropolitan Area, Long Island, the Northeast, Florida, New England, Denver, and an international presence in Italy, the firm offers a dynamic and growing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise Tax Seniors, Semi Seniors, Associates, and staff accountants
  • Ensure assignments are completed within budgeted timeframes
  • Communicate with clients regarding tax-related issues throughout the year
  • Develop technical knowledge through meetings, training programs, industry events, and research activities
  • Identify risk management issues and propose solutions through research and collaboration
  • Conduct tax research and draw conclusions to address target issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Taxation or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in tax preparation, review, and supervision
  • Construction tax experience is required
  • CPA license is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and tax software such as ProSystems and CCH
  • Strong technical knowledge in corporate, international, federal, state, and local tax
  • Solid background in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, C Corporations, partnerships, and individual/trust taxation
  • Strong tax accounting skills including US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returns
  • Ability to manage staff across multiple engagements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growing firm environment
  • Strong communication and client management skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $130,000 to $170,000 depending on location and qualifications (applicable states include New York, Massachusetts, Washington DC, Colorado, and New Jersey)
